Employment

All applications must be filed with the Personnel Director for the City of Greenwood before consideration will be given to any applicant.  When positions become available, a posting of the position will be available on the City's Personnel page.

Firefighter (Probationary)
Under general supervision, controls and extinguishes fires, protects life and property, and maintains all fire equipment. Completes records and reports as required. Assists in educating the public regarding fire prevention and safety. Performs facilities and grounds maintenance duties.

Minimum Training and Experience
At least 18 years of age. High School graduate or GED. Willingness and ability to train in firefighting methods and procedures with the expectation of acquiring certification from the SC Fire Academy. Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
