The Fine Arts and Lecture Series at Lander University (In conjunctions with the GLEAMNS Benjamin E. Mays Historical Preservation Site) Presents: 
A Panel Discussion on the life and legacy of Dr. Benjamin E. Mays. 
Panel of Participant Scholars:
Dr. Orville Vernon Burton (Clemson University History Professor) 
Dr. Zachery Williams (Associate Professor of African American History at the University of Akron)
Dr. Otis Moss, Jr. (Mentee of Dr. Mays, pastor, theologian, speaker, author, and activist) 
Dr. John Herbert Roper (Coastal Carolina University History Professor and author of Magnificent Mays) 
Dr. Lawrence E. Carter (Professor of Religion and Dean of the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel)

Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 2pm

The GLEAMNS Dr. Benjamin E. Mays Historical Preservation Site (237 N Hospital Street Greenwood, SC  29646) will be adding a new structure that will serve as its centerpiece. A bronze statue of DR. BENJAMIN E. MAYS, by Jon Hair, Jon Hair Monumental Sculpture, Inc., of St. Petersburg, FL, will be unveiled and dedicated, at the GLEAMNS Dr. Benjamin E. Mays Historical Preservation Site, on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 2pm. The Dedicatory Oration will be delivered by Dr. Otis Moss, Jr., an American pastor, theologian, speaker,author, activist, and Protégé of Dr. Benjamin E. Mays.
