Commercial Sanitation Billing
The City of Greenwood Public Works Department provides commercial garbage dumpster service to more than 600 customers in the City including apartments, condominiums, commercial, and industrial businesses. The Finance Office collects monthly payments for sanitation services. The City’s Public Works Department offers a variety of dumpster sizes and service frequencies. Local Accommodation Tax
The City and County of Greenwood adopted a three (3) percent Local Accommodation Tax that was implemented July 1, 2005. The City's Finance Department collects the revenue generated through the tax. Revenue generated supports the Greenwood Regional Tourism & Visitor Bureau. Local Hospitality Tax
The City of Greenwood adopted a two (2) percent Local Hospitality Tax that began April 1, 2006 within the City limits of Greenwood. The City's Finance Department collects the revenue generated through the tax. The 2% tax affects prepared or modified food and/or beverages intended for immediate consumption. An information sheet is available which will answer most of your questions about what is subject to the hospitality tax. Yard Sales
A permit must be obtained before City residents conduct a yard sale. The permit procedure helps to curb commercial sales in residential neighborhoods since it only allows a maximum of four permits per year per location. No fee is required to obtain a yard sale permit. Solicitation Permit
Persons or businesses selling goods door to door must obtain a business license from the City of Greenwood Finance Department. Persons or businesses requesting donations door to door must obtain a solicitation permit from the City of Greenwood Finance Department. Anyone selling merchandise or requesting donations must carry the appropriate City permit. A solicitation or business license permit is necessary to solicit anywhere in the City of Greenwood, including streets, public buildings, and private residences. Handbills
Any person wishing to deliver, hand out, distribute or otherwise circulate any handbill, circular, pamphlet or similar written matter within the city must obtain a permit in order to do so. An application must be completed and submitted along with a copy of the materials to be circulated to the Finance Department. Your permit will be either approved or denied within ten working days.

Squirrel Permit
It shall be unlawful for any person to shoot squirrels inside the city limits without a valid Destructive Squirrel Abatement Permit to Discharge Firearm in their immediate possession. To obtain a Squirrel Abatement Permit, call (864) 942-8419.

Bow and Arrow Permit

It is unlawful for any person to shoot a bow and arrow within the city limits of Greenwood without a valid Hunting Permit to Discharge a Bow and Arrow. To obtain a Bow and Arrow Permit, call (864) 942-8419.
