POLICE OFFICER - Click for full job description
The City of Greenwood is accepting applications for police officers. Salaries range from $30,784 to $38,917 depending on training and experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, SC Police Officers Retirement, and educational incentive pay. Applicants must successfully pass an oral interview process, drug test, medical exam, psychological screening, polygraph examination, and background investigation.

PUBLIC WORKS: EQUIPMENT OPERATOR:  Under general supervision operates several types of heavy and power construction equipment such as front loader, rear loader, side loader, dump truck, tractor, back hoe, front end-loader, etc. in performance of City related assignments. Performs other miscellaneous duties including landscaping, carpentry work, equipment, etc., as assigned.    Is responsible for general maintenance of the truck such as refueling and washing (interior and exterior).  High school graduate with six to twelve months of experience as a truck/heavy equipment operator or closely related position; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid South Carolina Commercial Driver’s License. (CDL).  Salary Range: $26,228.80 - $36,774.40.

PUBLIC WORKS:  CREWMAN:  Under general supervision, performs general maintenance duties to enhance and maintain the streets and right of ways within the City including leaf and limb collection, mowing grass, planting flowers, weed removal, patching potholes, repairing sidewalks, installing and repairing street signs, event setup and other duties as assigned.    High school degree or equivalent with some knowledge in the field of lawn maintenance or construction preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform duties.  Applicants must possess a valid SC Driver's License.  Salary Range: $21,860.80 - $30,596.80.

PUBLIC WORKS CREWMAN (SEASONAL):  Under general supervision, performs overall maintenance duties to promote beautification of the City including trash collection, mowing grass, weeding, planting flowers and other duties as assigned.  This is a temporary, seasonal position.  Must be 16 years or older to apply.  Pay: $9/hour.

BUILDING INSPECTOR – Under limited supervision is responsible for inspecting new and existing residential and commercial structures to ensure that specific components meet provisions of building, grading, zoning and safety laws and approved plans, specifications and standards.  Enforces city ordinances relating to housing and general maintenance of property.  Reports to the Building Official. 

Applicants must be a high school graduate with some vocational school education or education regarding building codes as required from study courses or seminars and one to two years of experience in construction or some related field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess or be able to obtain within one year of employment, International Code Council certificates in Residential Plumbing, Residential Electrical, Residential Mechanical and Residential Building. Must possess a valid S.C. driver's license.  Salary Range: $37,419.20 - $52,374.40.  

PARK ATTENDANT (SEASONAL):  Under general supervision, performs overall maintenance duties related to the Uptown Market and Interactive Fountain operations and assists the Uptown Market Manager as requested. Duties include custodial care of facilities, monitoring guest behavior, monitoring water quality, and other duties as assigned.  This is a temporary, seasonal, part-time position.  Must be 16 years or older to apply.  Pay: $9/hour.
