Old Greenwood Village Overlay
The Old Greenwood Village Property Owner’s Association proposed an historic overlay zoning district for an area of the City of Greenwood in the Spring of 2007. An overlay district is a set of additional standards beyond the traditional zoning and land use requirements that serve to protect and enhance existing properties and future development. Typically, these standards deal with the design, utilization and historic character of the structures within the designated area.
Following numerous public hearings before the City of Greenwood Board of Architectural Review (BAR), the Greenwood City/County Planning Commission and the Greenwood City Council, Greenwood City Council approved the Old Greenwood Village Historic Overlay on December 15, 2007.
