Construction on the Riley/Magnolia Streetcape project are slated to begin in September 2015.  This project is the first streetscape on the Eastern side of the Uptown Greenwood Square and will include new sidewalks with decorative brick pavers, new pedestrian level lighting with decorative light poles, new road surface and the introduction of street trees and additional landscape material.  This project will connect Uptown Greenwood to Magnolia park through the addition of new and improved crosswalks.  The project is funded through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and local Hospitality Taxes.  The City has also partnered with Greenwood Metropolitan District (GMD) and the Commissioners of Public Works to provide new underground utilities.

Take a moment to view the video below, filmed by the City Manager in August 2014 which explains the importance of this new streetscape to the community.
